Last weekend, K and I went to watch children's theatre at Wolf Trap. I had been planning this for a few months now, so when I noticed Pushcart Players; the Emmy nominated group performing over the weekend, I knew I had to book the tickets!
A great deal of planning and time management was involved to make this possible. The performance was at 10:30 A.M. which meant, I had to feed both the boys, put Vir down for his nap, get K ready, get ready myself and leave on time.
Even though, I had booked the tickets, I still had to pick them up from the event venue. To save me from the morning rush, we decided to pick them the evening before. The other thing, I did the night before was shower! :)
Come Saturday morning, I had two less things to worry about! Boys woke up at their usual time, we started with the morning routine, not only was I able to accomplish getting them fed and ready, I was able to cook lunch for us for later! It felt great! :)
At 9:30 A.M. sharp, Vir was in his crib, ready to go down for his nap and at 9:40 A.M., K and I were out of the house, while Tarun stayed home and baby-sat Vir, while he slept!
At 9:50 A.M, we were at Wolf Trap! It's great that we live so close, we only need to go there more often. :)
K and I walked the trail to the open theatre and got good seats.
At 10:30 A.M. sharp pushcart puppets were at the stage and the show began.
They enacted 4 tales in a 45 minute duration and the audience was all laughs and claps. It was so nice and encouraging to see Kabir cheering the actors and enjoying the show!
I enjoyed it as much, if not more! :) It was like going back to the childhood days when I had read some of those tales!
Kabir has since been telling me he wants to be an actor! May be one day, we'll go catch his performance! What a treat that would be! :)
For now I am already looking forward to doing it again but as a family next year! :)
